Happy Birthday, Julia!

Many of you know in August we love to celebrate Julia Child’s birthday annually. In the past we have used exclusively Julia’s recipes although in the last couple of years I have added into the menu, mix some more modern techniques and flavors. Julia was the first one to celebrate new young chefs who weren’t flippant with their talents but created sound fundamentally exciting recipes.

On one of her TV episodes featuring LA Chef Nancy Silverton and her Brioche Crème Fraiche Tart, Julia absolutely lost her mind. Tears welled up in her eyes declaring the Crème Fraiche Tart the “best dessert I ever had” literally a dessert worth crying over.

I think the uber talented Nancy Silverton is a worthy 2000’s version of Julia herself. Feisty, bold, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial. Nancy’s books mimic Julia’s insane detail driven writing. Remember, Julia’s masterpiece “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” was a decade in the making.

On this special 114th birthday evening we will offer a few Julia recipes mingled with a few Nancy recipes to make a complete supper for a fabulous celebration. Hope to see you here!

Guests will be greeted with Salt Crystal Butter and French Radishes, and our popular sparkling “Violetta” or any Non-Alcoholic drinks. After your welcome drink, you are welcome to receive a beer, a glass of red wine, a glass of white wine or a glass of sparkling wine on us. If you do wish to have additional drinks, we will have a drink list available for purchase.

Ticket price is per 1 person. If you register separately from the person (or people) with whom you are attending, please let us know in advance so we can make sure we seat you with your party. 

Refund policy: Once a class is purchased it is non-refundable.  The ownership, however, is yours and you may send someone else in your stead.
