Questions? We've Got Answers.
Oh no, I can't come to the class that I have purchased tickets to... what do I do?
We appreciate you checking our cooking school! Once a class is purchased it is non-refundable. The ownership, however is yours and you may send someone else in your stead. The Hot Stove Society reserves the right to cancel any class that fails to attract sufficient enrollment or chef illness, in this instance we will gladly refund your purchase. If you miss a class due to weather-related concerns, our standard cancellation policy applies. For any other questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
What should I wear?
Something comfortable with shoes with non-slip soles. For hands-on demos, we’ll give you an apron so your clothes won’t get too much collateral damage flying around.
I'd like to buy a ticket to your classes for a friend. How can I do that?
When purchasing tickets, there will be a prompt to enter a name.
What should I bring/wear to my class?
We’ll have all the equipment you’ll need to participate in the class. If you’d like to take notes in your own gold-plated Moleskine and fancy fancy calligraphy pen, feel free to bring ‘em. If you’re more comfortable with your own knives, you can bring those as well!
I'm coming to a class at the Hot Stove Society and was thinking about getting a room for the night at the Hotel Ändra. Do you offer a discount?
The Hotel Ändra has graciously offered a 20% discount on their best available rate for those attending a class at our society. Need a room? Click here!
Are participants under eighteen years old allowed to take a class?
Yes, but with the request that all participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. We just want to make sure everyone can enjoy the class safely! When applicable, a non-alcoholic drink will be given to them so they don’t feel left out (Shirley Temples are our specialty!)
I'd like to have a bite to eat / cocktail before AND / OR after the class, where should I go?
Well, there’s a BRAND NEW bar connected to the Hot Stove Society in the Hotel Andra. There’s plenty of room to hang out and collect your thoughts. For any other restaurant recommendations, please visit TomDouglas.com - we have all sorts of joints within walking distance – for instance, Lola is in the same building. Dahlia Lounge and Dahlia Bakery are right across the street as well!
I attended a class and I love the butcher block tables. Do you sell those? At a discount?
Our awesome tables come from John Boos Butcher Block Company. As someone who’s attended a Hot Stove Society class, you can enjoy a 15% discount off any John Boos cutting board, standing butcher block, butcher block table or cart with the promotion code: HOTSTOVESOCIETY.

I have a suggestion for a class that I would love to take and I feel other folks would like to take it - can I tell you about it?
Heck yeah! We *LOVE* suggestions and will totally take it under consideration. Please email email@example.com
I've already taken a class similar to your 101 class, can I skip it and go directly to the 201 level?
Sure, just know that there will be a lot of assumed language and techniques. If you feel 100% confident, by all means come in to the class that appeals the most to you.
