Fresh masa is one of our most popular subjects at Hot Stove Society. For those of you who want to throw your own Mexican fiesta, Chef-Instructor Bridget Charters will be here to show you exactly how to do it.

Tamales are moist corn cakes that can be filled with a variety of delicious fillings.  Typically, shredded chicken, pork or beef with cheese and chiles. The corn cakes are then wrapped in corn husks and steamed.  Learn how to make these from scratch.  They freeze beautifully so you can have them on hand.

What You’ll Learn and Make:

  • Tamale Batter
  • Chicken Chile Verde
  • Avocado Tomatillo Salsa
  • Colorado Sauce

Virtual Classroom:

This class will be very similar to our previous in-person Hot Stove classes, with an instructor that demonstrates how to make each dish “live” via Zoom. As a registered attendee, you will have the ability to watch, learn and interact with the instructor, just as if you were sitting at one of our Hot Stove Society work tables! Feel free to cook along with the group or sit back and let your in-home sous chef do all the work – either way, we promise it will be a fun and educational time in the kitchen!
