Warming Winter Italian Soups

Soup season is here!

On a cold winter day, nothing beats a fragrant bowl of soup to warm you from the inside out. This is the time of year when it feels satisfying to get back in the kitchen and do some real cooking from scratch. You can make soups ahead of time and enjoy the comfort of knowing you’re coming home to a delicious, nourishing supper that only needs to be heated up.

Hot Stove Chef Instructor Bridget Charters will teach you how to make different types of Italian soups.  The Italians make hearty soups all through the winter months; each region has amazing, satisfying soups to keep you warm in winter, featuring ingredients that can be stored in winter—beans, farro, winter vegetables, and greens.  The soups are served drizzled with fragrant olive oil and big chunks of hearty, toasted bread.

As you watch Bridget demo, you’ll enjoy substantial tastes of each dish. Then you’ll roll up your sleeves and work in teams of two to make both the Cannellini Bean & Farro Soup as well as the Barley and Corona Bean Soup and you’ll take home a container of each.

A glass of wine or beer is included.
