Vietnamese New Year, also called Tet, is based on a lunar calendar.  It is the most important celebration of the year in Vietnamese culture.  Most Vietnamese mark the New Year by preparing special holiday foods for their families.

Hot Stove Instructor Annie Elmore wants to celebrate Vietnamese New Year with you by showing you how to prepare a traditional 5-course Vietnamese meal.  Annie will also explain the customs and culture of Vietnamese New Year.  As Annie demos, you’ll enjoy substantial tastes of each dish and go home with the recipes so you can recreate your favorite dish at home!

  • Shrimp Chips with Chili-Lemongrass Baby Clams
  • Pork Belly, Cabbage and Pineapple Salad, with Candied Ginger Vinaigrette

  • Coconut Milk and Black-Eyed Pea Rice Pudding
