Celebrate Tet Deliciously!

Vietnamese New Year, also called Tet, is based on a lunar calendar.  It is the most important celebration of the year in Vietnamese culture.  Most Vietnamese mark this important occasion by preparing special holiday foods for their families.

Hot Stove Instructor Annie Elmore wants to celebrate Vietnamese New Year with you by showing you how to prepare a traditional 5-course Vietnamese meal.  Annie will also explain the customs and culture of Vietnamese New Year.  As Annie demos, you’ll enjoy substantial tastes of each dish including a glass of Chinese beer.

Demo and Tastes:

  • Pork and taro egg roll with sweet and sour dipping sauce
  • Lotus root and shrimp salad
  • Wonton noodle soup
  • Steamed catfish with soy ginger
  • Coconut mung bean sesame balls
  • To drink: Chinese beer!
