Now & Again

Now & Again

Inventive home cooking, including the leftovers!

Julia Turshen is the author of Small Victories, one of the most beloved cookbooks of 2016, and Feed the Resistance, which won Eater Cookbook of the Year in 2017. The motivating theme behind Julia’s books is “Cooking for someone is the biggest gesture of love you can do.”

Hot Stove Society  is excited to welcome Julia Turshen for a demo and cookbook signing for her newest cookbook, Now & Again.  Julia has three goals in mind for Now & Again. One is to instill the idea that making a full meal doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. The second is to show you  that leftovers can be an invitation to really fun and inventive cooking. And third to give you all the inspiration and information you need to gather people around the table, because that is the best part of home cooking.

We’ll greet you with a glass of Jody’s Plum Bibonade, then you’ll watch Julia demo a menu from the Sunday Morning Bangladeshi Breakfast chapter of Now & Again.  Julia will show you how to take scrambled eggs from ordinary to remarkable with a fresh, herby coconut chutney, how to make a classic flatbread, and how to dress up fresh mango with a flavorful syrup and toasted pistachios.  In addition, she’ll give you three ingenious ideas for what to do with the leftovers.

A copy of Now & Again is included in the price of the class, and Julia will sign your book.

OXO will be providing gift bags to the first 30 ticket holders.

What You’ll Learn (Demo and Tastes):
