Hot Stove is excited to welcome Chef Hooni Kim for a demo and cookbook signing of his debut cookbook, My Korea!  Chef Hooni Kim trained at Daniel and Masa before opening Danji, the first Michelin-starred Korean restaurant in the world, and Hanjan. Born in Seoul, he divides his time between New York City and Korea, where he is the founder of Yori Chunsa, a nonprofit that feeds and trains orphans to become cooks.

Chef Hooni Kim draws inspiration from visiting his family in South Korea.  There he experienced poignant food memories that have influenced his cooking for years to come.  We will greet you with a glass of one of Chef’s favorite cocktails: Su jung Kwa.  This is a traditional Korean beverage made from whiskey and dried persimmons spiced with cinnamon and ginger.  Then you’ll watch as Chef Hooni demo a several dishes from his new cookbook.  Enjoy substantial tastes of everything that he demonstrates. 

A copy of My Korea: Traditional Flavors, Modern Recipes is included in the price of the class, and Chef Hooni Kim will sign your book!
