Lunch Club: Kushi-yaki

The art of yakitori and kushi yaki

Tired of the same-old, same old?  Try thinking about lunch in a whole new way and sign up for Lunch Club.  In the same hour that you usually spend chomping down a sandwich while you look at your phone, you can be seated at Hot Stove Society while Hot Stove Instructor Jamie Freedman cooks lunch for you!

Jamie is going to teach you how to make Japanese Yakitori and Kushi Yaki.  “Yaki” is the Japanese art of grilling, while "yakitori" refers specifically to a grilled, chicken skewer.  Kushi yaki is a more general term for a grilled skewer.  Jamie will talk all about the differences between the two and what ingredients are her favorites to use in grilling!  You’ll learn how to use beautiful local ingredients and grill them in your own backyard the Japanese way!

Go ahead and treat yourself to a special way to go out for lunch. Better yet, find a buddy and make it a lunch date!
