Lunch Club- Cassoulet

Lunch Club- Cassoulet

Classic Cassoulet from the south of France

Tired of the same-old, same old?  Try thinking about lunch in a whole new way and sign up for Lunch Club!  In the same hour that you usually spend chomping down a sandwich while you look at your phone, you can be seated at Hot Stove Society while Chef instructor Bridget Charters cooks lunch for you!

For this edition of lunch club, Bridget is going to show you how to make the rich casserole called cassoulet that originated in the south of France. Typically, cassoulet contains cooked white beans, duck confit, sausage, pancetta, and pork, layered and slow cooked together under a crisp bread crumb crust.  This is the kind of hearty food you long for on cold wintry day! You’ll start this very French meal with a chicory endive salad, and you’ll end with a luscious chocolate pot de crème.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a special way to go out for lunch. Better yet, find a buddy and make it a lunch date!

What you’ll learn and eat: (demo only)

  • Chicory Endive Winter Salad
  • Classic French Cassoulet
  • Chocolate Pot de Creme
