Italian Antipasta

Italian Antipasta

The possibilities are endless!

Antipasto, which means “before the meal,” is the traditional first course or appetizer course in Italian cuisine.  There’s something especially delightful about serving an antipasto platter when entertaining so you can spend more time with guests. For a casual holiday gathering, you can set out a generous selection of antipasto and serve it as the whole meal.

Chef-Instructor Bridget Charters is our Italian specialist at Hot Stove Society. Her goal for this class is to show you how to put together a beautiful array of mixed antipasti as found in homes and restaurants throughout Italy.  Bridget will also show you antipasto variations from north to south.

Part of the beauty of antipasto is that the dishes are made in advance, held at room temperature, and served at room temperature, making things easy for both cooking and hosting.  Bridget will also give you tips on how to buy pantry staples in advance so you can put together a quick spread at a moment’s notice.

You’ll enjoy a substantial taste of everything Bridget demos.  You’ll also get to make marinated mushrooms, a white bean salad, and eggplant sandwiches, hands-on. We’ll pack these up for you so you can take them home and get a head start on your next antipasto platter.

A glass of wine or beer is included.
