French Vietnamese Dinner Class + Ingredient Kit


Franco-Vietnamese relations started as early as the 17th century, with the arrival of Catholic missionaries in Vietnam.  France would eventually colonize Vietnam and Cambodia, forming the Indochinese Union in 1887, which would solidify French influence in Vietnam for the next 70 years.  Chefs Annie Elmore and Bridget Charters are in the kitchen teaching some of these modern Vietnamese takes on classic French dishes.  This menu promises to be easy to learn and delicious to eat.

What You’ll Learn and Make:

  • Vietnamese Style Coffee with Coconut Tuiles
  • Banh Pate So – Meat filled Pastries
  • Bo Luc Lac – Vietnamese Shaken Beef with Nuoc Cham and Jasmine Rice
  • Flan in the French Style with Fresh Mango

Ingredient Kit:

This registration is for the class link and our curated ingredient kit, specifically made for this class. The kit can be picked up at our contact-free dock at the Ballard Warehouse Kitchen, home to Serious TakeOut in at 5118 14th Avenue NW. Your ingredient kit can be picked up the day before class, any time from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Please note that each kit has enough ingredients for 2 servings. 

Virtual Classroom:

This class will be very similar to our previous in-person Hot Stove classes, with an instructor that demonstrates how to make each dish “live” via Zoom. As a registered attendee, you will have the ability to watch, learn and interact with the instructor, just as if you were sitting at one of our Hot Stove Society work tables!

Accessing the Class:

48-hours before class we will email all registered attendees a Zoom link, instructions, and recipes.
