Feast of the Southern Wild

Feast of the Southern Wild

Popcorn gator, gumbo, and etouffee

The historic New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival takes place late April through early May each year. If you didn’t have a chance to get to Jazz Fest this year, you can still indulge in some of the delicious New Orleans delicacies you missed out on. New Orleans is a city with an amazing and unique cuisine with Cajun, Creole and French roots.

Hot Stove Instructors Annie Elmore and Sean McFadyen are going to show you how to prepare a menu that ranges from crazy fun (popcorn ‘gator) to iconic (gumbo and etouffee).  As Annie and Sean demo, you’ll enjoy a substantial taste of each dish. You’ll start with a Mint Julep and end with puffy, cloud-light beignet fritters with a Bourbon Milk Punch shot!  Join us and laissez les bons temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!)

What You’ll Learn and Eat (Demo only)

  • Welcome cocktail: Mint Julep
  • Popcorn alligator with Creole remoulade- deep fried pieces of tender ‘gator served with a spicy dipping sauce
