Dumpling Workshop | Bao & Shumai

Demo + Hands-On

Whether steamed, boiled, deep fried, or pan fried, there's nothing that satisfies our cravings like a dumpling, especially if it's a handmade dumpling shaped, pinched, or pleated with love.  Here at Hot Stove Society we are crazy for dumplings, so in this class series, we'll show you how to make Shu Mai and Bao. 

Chef Annie Elmore will demo the art of the bao and shu mai. Wine and beers available for purchase. Payments accepted via card only.

What You’ll Learn and Make:

  • BBQ Pork Bao – a Chinese filled bun or dumpling
  • Bao Dough
  • BBQ Pork Filling
  • How to roll dough, how to form bao, and how to cook bao
  • Chili Soy Dipping Sauce
  • Shu Mai – Steamed Chinese Pork & Shrimp Dumplings

Safety:  For guest and staff safety we are following the news closely and support the guidance for indoor mask wearing. We require that you bring a mask to wear when you are moving about in our kitchen and may remove it when eating. Our staff is fully vaccinated and will wear masks except when presenting on the demonstration stage. The mask policy is subject to change and will be updated regularly. Effective 7/31/2021.

Refund Policy:  Once a class is purchased it is non-refundable.  The ownership, however, is yours and you may send someone else in your stead.
