The Hot Stove society welcomes back Angela Buck-Hatter!  Angela, with 15+ years of bartending experience and 20 years in the restaurant industry, is also BarSmarts Advanced Certified and took her exam from the one and only David Wondrich, the celebrated cocktail historian and author.  She loves sharing her passion for cocktails and cocktail history!

Angela will be joined by Andy McClellan of Moda Beverage.  Angela and Andy will be featuring Pinhook Whiskey.  Pinhook is a whiskey producer based out of Kentucky that celebrates the bond between Kentucky horse racing culture and Bourbon Country. Much like how a horse owner bets on the pedigree of a horse to become a racing champion, Pinhook bets on the quality of a single batch of barrels to produce a terrific whiskey. Every bottle release is from a new batch of barrels to be released once a year thus creating a vintage whiskey. 

Angela will demo three exciting whiskey cocktails and you will get to taste small pours of all three. Each cocktail will be paired with a substantial taste of delicious food prepared by the Hot Stove team.

What You’ll Learn and Taste: (Cocktail demo, no food demo)

  • Sazerac – Rye, Pechauds Bitters, Absinthe
    • Paired with French Onion Toast - caramelized onion jam, absinthe and rye, gruyere, grilled Dahlia crostini
  • Boulavardier – Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth, Campari
    • Paired with Fried Chicken Po Boy- crispy fried citrus and spice rubbed chicken bits, sweet n’ sour honey drizzle, celery root remoulade, Dahlia bun
  • Lions tail – Cast Strength Bourbon, Angostura bitters, Allspice dram
    • Paired with Cubano en Crepinette - citrus roasted pork n’ ham patties, jus, fried grit gordita
