Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo

Nachos, Gorditas, Tacos, and More

Cinco de Mayo is the annual celebration to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory at the Battle of the Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War on May 5, 1862.  What better way to celebrate than to sign up for this class?

Hot Stove Director Lexi is going to show you how to make a Mexican feast, starting with Cadillac Nachos from Cantina Leña.  You’ll also learn how to make gorditas (which means “little fatties”)- fat, stuffed corn tortillas with green chorizo and queso fresco, as well as carnitas tacos with roasted tomatillo salsa.  You’ll end with an exotically delicious prickly pear sorbet.

We’ll welcome you with a Scratch Margarita.  As you watch Lexi demo, you’ll enjoy a substantial taste of each dish.

Don’t sit at home on Cinco de Mayo.  Come to Hot Stove to celebrate in style and learn how to cook Mexican food at the same time!

What You’ll Learn and Eat: (demo only)

  • Welcome beverage: Scratch Margarita
  • Cantina Leña’s Cadillac Nachos
