Delicious breads you can make all the time!

Is there anything more comforting and homey than the fragrance of your own bread baking in the oven? Do you want to make shaping and baking a loaf of bread a regular part of your life? Chef Instructor Bridget and Hot Stove Lead Janet love to make bread, and they don’t think of it as a once a year special occasion task. They want to teach you recipes that are straightforward and relatively simple to make so you can make them at home all the time. Also, these breads are fun to make with kids as a family project.

You’ll watch Bridget and Janet demo each bread recipe, and you'll enjoy tastes of each bread, then you’ll get to make both the milk rolls and the wheat loaf hands-on and take them home.

A glass of wine or beer is included.

What You’ll Learn:


  • Basic concepts for bread doughs
  • Focaccia- the flat, yeasted, oven-baked bread of Italy
  • Pretzel loaf- did you know you can make a nice, dense, delicious loaf from pretzel dough?
  • Boule- rustic bread in a classic shape made with poolish (wet sponge starter)


  • Milk rolls- the kind of fluffy bread rolls you wish you could eat with dinner every night of the week! You will make dough (and take that dough home), then use dough that is already proofed to shape and bake rolls. Take home both dough and baked-off milk rolls
  • Wheat loaf- a simple, healthy and delicious loaf of whole wheat bread to make all the time- make the dough, shape, bake, and take home your loaf
