Cook-along with Tom!

If you saw the movie Big Night, you know that a timpano is a dome of pasta stuffed with meatballs, hard boiled eggs, salami, cheeses, ragu and other wonderful things.  To make a timpano, you first line a mold with a sheet of pasta, fill it with flavorful ingredients, and fold the pasta sheet over to seal. Then bake until golden, turn it out of the mold and enjoy your timpano in all its delectable glory!

You might think this culinary project is only for the pros, but with Tom Douglas at your side you’ll find out how much fun it is to build your own timpano hands-on.

Join Tom Douglas for an exhilarating cook-along, then reap the rewards of your labor with a delicious Italian dinner featuring the beautiful timpano you made yourself, plus radicchio salad, dessert, and, of course, delicious Italian wines.

What You’ll Learn and Eat and Drink:

  • We’ll greet you with a Prosecco Rhubarb Fizz and antipasti
  • Tom will demo the art of timpano building, then you’ll get to roll up your sleeves and build your own timpano, hands-on, under Tom’s guidance
  • While your timpano bakes, Tom will demo the filling ingredients: his favorite fennel sausage and  meatballs with mozzarella, and for a side dish he’ll show you how to make a Sagra di Radicchio salad
  • Hot Stove Director Lexi Ochoa will demo classic Italian biscotti
  • Italian wine tasting- taste some of Tom’s favorite Chianti, Barbera, and Barolo wines
  • After your timpano is baked and cooled, you’ll unmold it yourself and enjoy it for dinner along with radicchio salad
  • Biscotti, gelato, and Vin Santo for dessert, and if you have leftover timpano we’ll pack it up for you to take home
