Potsticker Love Class + Ingredient Kit

Potsticker Love Class + Ingredient Kit

During her career as a food writer at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Hsiao-Ching shared many stories about learning how to make dumplings (boiled, steamed potstickers) at her mother, Ellen’s, apron strings. Ellen would roll the wrappers and Hsiao-Ching would fill and pinch the dumplings. Hsiao-Ching has taught home cooks how to make these dumplings at food festivals, on board a Holland America cruise, and most notably, for Tony Bourdain. Tony featured Hsiao-Ching on his Travel Channel show “No Reservations.” The potsticker recipe also has been featured in the PBS documentary and companion cookbook, “The Meaning of Food.”

For this class, you will learn the traditional pork and cabbage potstickers, which will spoil you for store-bought versions.  You’ll learn how to make potstickers and scallion pancakes from scratch!

Menu and what you’ll learn:

  • How to make dough for dumplings
  • How to make Pork and Cabbage filling
  • How to fill, pleat, and cook traditional Pork and Cabbage Potstickers
  • How to roll out and cook Green Onion Pancakes
  • How to make Soy-Ginger Dipping Sauce

Virtual Classroom:

This class will be very similar to our previous in-person Hot Stove classes, with an instructor that demonstrates how to make each dish “live” via Zoom. As a registered attendee, you will have the ability to watch, learn and interact with the instructor, just as if you were sitting at one of our Hot Stove Society work tables! Feel free to cook along with the group or sit back and let your in-home sous chef do all the work – either way, we promise it will be a fun and educational time in the kitchen!

Accessing the Class:

48-hours before class we will email all registered attendees a Zoom link and class preparation instructions. Please see the link below to download the ingredient/equipment lists.

 Ingredient Kit:
